Tongji-ISU Dual Degree program
The Iowa State University (ISU) College of Design is home to about 1,850 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. It’s a small college at a big university, and students can enjoy the best that both have to offer.
The Iowa State University College of Design is one of only a half-dozen comprehensive design schools in the U.S. where the same mix of disciplines—architecture, art and design, community and regional planning, design, graphic design, industrial design, interior design, landscape architecture and studio arts—is housed in the same college, under the same roof.
Iowa State's undergraduate programs in architecture and landscape architecture (professional degree programs in the College of Design) are among the top 11 in the nation. For 2013, its undergraduate architecture program ranked 9th nationally among accredited undergraduate architecture programs in the U.S., and first in the Midwest.
This program opens to the students of Architecture major from Tongji University，who have completed their Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree, and who have met the ISU CoD admission requirement, including the English proficiency requirements, GPA, essay, portfolio, and recommendation letters. Students engaged in this program would have their first and third year of master course study in Tongji University, inbetween which students spend 12 months abroad in ISU. Students would graduate with both a Masters of Architecture from Tongji University, and a Masters of Science from ISU.
